Umu Ora was founded by Lucy after time spent travelling in Southern and East Africa, where she noticed a disconnect between place and product - hotels and lodges relying on imported bathroom amenities with no relationship to their environment, and nothing that honoured African botanicals. Rooted in Africa and shaped by the seasons, Umu Ora works with plants grown on the continent, supporting local communities, while allowing nature to guide each formulation. Our approach is natural and conscious, with equal care given to design restraint and how each vessel lives within a space. What began as a beauty product offering has evolved into a quieter and more deeply considered vision of wellness - grounded in sensory essentials, presence, and connection to place.
